Dish Development

Within Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story, the player will be able to develop different types of Japanese dessert recipes starting from dorayaki making at the beginning, the player can expand the different dishes in the store by exploring new areas to get ingredients, giving the player the possibility to get the base to create different types of Cakes such as Baumkuchen, as well as instructions to develop several Wagashi desserts in addition recipes for new types of Mochi, Daifuku, Taiyaki and Dango. The stats to take into account when developing a new dish are Taste, Aura, Popular and Luxury. These stats can be increased in different ways, such as through the appropriate decorating equipment.

Alternatively, the player can upgrade the stats of the dishes either through the use of the Food Lab or by using upgrade bases. Additionally, the player can select certain dishes to be advertised at different types of events, which are broadcasted on TV causing the price of these dishes to increase, specifically in the range of +40G to +80G on certain occasions.

The player can choose between different decorations to decorate the dessert, which are obtained by having a certain number of regular customers or other requirements. These decorations include the mat/tray as well as flower and leaf ornaments. Another important aspect when putting the finishing touches to the desserts is that certain characters can help contribute to the development of the desserts, such as Nobita who can increase the popularity of the dish, Shizuka who can increase the stats of Luxury while Suneo can increase the price of the dessert.

Additionally, each helper has a specialty when it comes to putting the finishing touches on a recipe, such as Suneo, which can help improve the stats for Yokan and Monaka's recipes meanwhile Nobita can improve new Daifuku recipes in the store, in addition, Shizuka and Gian can help improve the stats for different types of cakes. To be more specific, Shizuka generally specializes in the development and improvement of Baumkuchen cakes, a type of spit cake originated in Europe and later adapted to Japanese cuisine.

Recipe stats can be greatly improved after creation with the use of books obtained in exploration mode or purchased from Gouda General Store, and which can be then be applied in Prototype Room. With various Special Gadgets unlocked, up to 8 books can be obtained per exploration visit. Multiple books for the same base ingredient can be used simultaneously and will be applied to all currently unlocked recipes of that type, upgrading stats up to a possible rank of SS.

Different types of dishes available in the game with personalized decorations

Improvement per usage scales with the Skill level of whichever character is based in the Prototype Room. The use of books is ultimately more significant to the likelihood of winning contests in the mid-game than the use of decorations because it can be repeated quickly and cheaply by doing additional runs of the same level of Exploration, versus high stat decorations whose availability is limited to your current number of character unlocks and can be very expensive.
