Pool Slide Story is a management game where players create and maintain a water park. The player must juggle creating popular pools, and cooking a variety of recipes, and completing customer requests.
Seasonal System
The game has 4 seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter to represents a year inside the game. Each season consists of 4 in-game days: 3 weekdays and 1 weekend (when peak customers arrive). Seasons not only affect the flow of customers aside from weather, but also can affect how Seasonal Popularity Bonus works on pools and attractions. Each Spring and Fall, the player may apply for a Certification with exclusive prizes that will increase the popularity of the water park. The game ends at the end of Winter, Year 8.
Pools
The main objective of the game is to create a number of pools that will attract visitors. The player can effect the popularity of a pool by increasing its size, adding items to change the scent and color of the pool, or installing facilities inside the pool or adjacent to the pool edge. The popularity of scents and colors is effected by the current season.
Friends
Visitors to your water park are gradually unlocked as the Player completes personal requests, who in turn invite new visitor types to your park. On their first visit, these visitors will be logged in your Friends tab on the SNS screen, and you can gift them swimsuits and floats in order to increase their satisfaction level and entry ticket price. Friends will take pictures of themselves at different attractions throughout the park, which will grant your park Likes. When an Area has received 1000 Likes from the residents of a local area, the next area will become available. There are 71 Friends available in 10 different residential areas.
Friends will also make requests as their Satisfaction increases. Each will make 3 requests, which are triggered at their Satisfaction level reaches a particular threshold. You will receive a reward for completing these quests, including new visitors, rare consumables, shops and facilities.
Recipes & Restaurants
Beside entrance fees to the water park, restaurants in a player's water park will be a secondary, or even primary source of income. Each restaurant has five slots available. There are four types of food: beverages, snacks, main meals, and desserts. Including one item from each category in a restaurant will grant a significant bonus to the restaurant's popularity.
Besides price, food items have 3 main attributes: Taste (which recovers visitors' energy), Appearance (which increases the purchase amount) and Popularity (which increases visitor satisfaction). Selecting items that are compatible with the restaurant also significantly boosts the items' stats.
Once cooking is unlocked in Y2, the player can craft any of the 139 in-game recipes, as long as they have the ingredients available either as rewards for completing requests or certifications, reaching certain Year markers, or in the in-game shop. It is not necessary to receive a recipe item in order to craft a recipe.
Certification

Players can apply for Certification in Spring and Fall each year. After applying, the Player will have 3 days to prepare their pool based on the Judges' requirements, with the pool being judged on that season's weekend at 3pm. Each Certificate has 2-3 requirements, hinted at or explicitly stated on the Certificates menu, with each judge granting up to 10 points each for a total of 30. As the Grade of the Certifications increases, so does the score requirement to pass, however it is never required to get a perfect score of 30 for any of the Certifications, with the highest score required being 25.

Trivia
- When first released the game could only be downloaded through the Kairo Land app; it wasn't until around 5 months later that it became available as a standalone app.
- Older mobile devices such Samsung J1 Ace (2015) do not meet the minimum requirements to run Pool Slide Story without significant performance issues.
